Configuring integrations and data provider connections
How to connect Portfolio Manager to external data providers such as Saxo Bank and Bitstamp.
The Settings page contains configuration options for connecting Portfolio Manager to external data providers. Open it from the left navigation bar.
Integrations
The Integrations section (open by default) lists all configured connections to external services and lets you add new ones.
Adding an integration
Click Add integration and select the service you want to connect:
- Saxo Bank β authorises Portfolio Manager to read your accounts and transactions from Saxo Bankβs API. After completing the OAuth flow, your Saxo Bank accounts will be synchronised automatically whenever you sign in via Portfolio Manager.
- Bitstamp β connects Portfolio Manager to your Bitstamp cryptocurrency account. Enter your Bitstamp API key and API secret when prompted. Once connected, your crypto accounts and transactions are synchronised automatically every night, and live cryptocurrency rates are fetched from Bitstamp twice daily for use in portfolio valuations.
Removing an integration
To remove an integration, locate it in the list and click the delete action next to it. Removing an integration does not delete any previously imported transactions; it only stops future synchronisation.
Notifications
The Notifications accordion on the Settings page controls which email alerts Portfolio Manager sends you. Expand it to see the available options.
Tolerance breach alerts
When this option is enabled, Portfolio Manager sends you an email when a portfolio group drifts outside its tolerance band. A new alert is sent only when a new breach is detected.
The email lists the affected portfolio, perspective, and group, together with the target allocation,
actual allocation, and the size of the deviation. Deviation values are labelled with their unit:
% for groups using a relative tolerance, pp (percentage points) for zero-target groups or
groups with a percentage-points override. Tolerance bands are configured on individual perspectives
and groups β see the Portfolios page for details.
Weekly status email
When this option is enabled, Portfolio Manager sends you a weekly summary email. It covers:
- Account values β current value of each account
- Rebalancing status β for every portfolio perspective that has a tolerance band configured, a
table showing each groupβs target allocation, actual allocation, deviation (labelled
%orppdepending on the unit used for each group), and whether it is within or outside the band
Only perspectives where a tolerance has been set appear in the weekly email. If none of your perspectives have a tolerance configured, the email will show account values only.
Signing in to Saxo Bank
Some features β such as fetching live prices and instrument data β require you to be actively signed in to Saxo Bank. You can do this at any time by clicking the Saxo Bank icon in the top-right corner of the application.
Once signed in, Portfolio Manager can retrieve current market prices and instrument details for as long as your session remains active.
